The Virginia Alliance for Potbellied Pigs gives a united
voice to those in Virginia dedicated to the welfare and
advocacy of pigs not in the food chain. While
recognizing the right of each sanctuary, rescue, and pet pig owner to
function independently, the Alliance seeks to advance the knowledge
and implementation of best practices in management, financial planning, medical
care, nutrition, and biosecurity issues while keeping members appraised and
educated on pending legislation and regulations.
We strive to eliminate abuse, neglect, homelessness and exploitation of these
unique animals that deserve nothing less than the full protection and advocacy
that should be afforded every living creature.
Not everyone can adopt one or more of the potbellied pigs who need homes in
our area, but we hope you'll consider sponsoring an animal at one of
our sanctuaries. A sponsorship makes a great gift or memorial! See
Help Us Help the Pigs for additional ways you can stay informed and assist us in making this a better
world for humans and animals alike.
